What Does a FISH Meeting Look Like?

We meet every Tuesday from 1-3pm from September through May at Faith Community Church in Belleville, Michigan.

We have access to a meeting room, large playground, and an outside space.  We have board games, balls, some toys, and other quiet activities that can be used on the days we are not on a field trip. Some meetings the adults talk and the kids divide up and play, and other meetings we all join in together for an activity or craft.

This is NOT a drop-off program. FISH is as much for the support of the homeschooling parent as it is for a social outlet for our kids. The relationships our adults make with each other is essential to our being able to manage our children’s friendships. We hope that parents and kids will be fully engaged with each other in all of our group meetings and activities.

Group Requirements and Dues

We require parents to stay with their children during group time, enabling them to oversee their own children’s activities while interacting with the rest of the parents and kids in the group.

We hope that families will come to as many of our gatherings as possible to foster friendships.

Registration fees are $10 per child and this is a once a year cost.

Monthly dues are $25 per family for 1-5 school-age kids OR $40 per family for 5+ kids. These dues cover our field trips, any fees for our space, party costs, crafts and supplies, and equipment costs. If you pay for the full year, you will receive a one month discount.
